THE ENGAGEMENT SESSION GUIDE
Let’s keep this simple: your engagement session is a fun, relaxed date where I get to third-wheel with a camera. My goal is to make it easy and enjoyable for you! No matter the weather or location, we’ll get amazing, authentic photos—rain or shine, mountain or downtown. All I ask is that you show up ready to laugh, move, and be yourselves.
WHAT TO WEAR
Feel good, look good.
Wear something you love and feel confident in—whether that’s your go-to date outfit or something new you've test-driven around the house.
Comfort = confidence, and confidence = killer photos.
Here are a few quick tips:
Dress for the location (heels + hiking = nope).
Stick to your style—don’t force it if it’s not “you.”
Add pops of color with accessories.
Coordinate outfits, but don’t feel the need to match.
Avoid tight clothes that might make you self-conscious.
Plan for the weather—bring that cute coat if needed!
Don’t want to bring a bunch of outfits? During Spring and Fall shoots, jackets and sweaters are a great way to switch up an outfit fast.
GET READY
A little prep goes a long way.
Avoid bloating foods and heavy alcohol the day before.
Light snacks and water are your BFFs. I’ll bring bottled water for you.
Try on outfits the day before (no last-minute stress!).
Clean and shine that ring!
Bring a small bag with touch-up items: brush, makeup, oil blotters.
And yes, tic tacs are better than gum.
WHAT TO BRING
Comfy shoes for walking
Extra outfit (or two)
Umbrella—just in case
Any props, pets, or personality pieces you love!
DURING THE SHOOT
This isn’t a Vogue photo shoot. It’s a date.
You don’t need to know how to pose—I’ll guide you, but I want you to move, play, and be a little flirty. Never stop moving, touching, laughing, and being your quirky, wonderful selves. The best photos come when you're just being YOU.
Whatever ideas you have—special props, dogs, motorcycles, save the dates—bring them! If you’re ever unsure or have questions, just message me. I’m here to help with anything and everything!
